Emma Hodson

I came to Pilates as I was struggling with back pain after having children, and decided to give it a try. I was amazed when just six weeks of classes set me free from pain.

Years of being a dedicated class attendee, seeing the fantastic benefits Pilates gave me, inspired me to teach, leading me to train with the highly respected STOTT Pilates.

Ever since, it has been my joy to teach and enable others to reap the benefits of Pilates. I tailor classes to accommodate all flexibility and strength levels and make modifications for back, joint, and other issues.

Emma Lister

With over a decade of teaching experience, Emma's classes are based on classical Pilates techniques, with influences from strength training, yoga, and her dance background.

Though a professional ballet dancer for 20 years, Emma is equally at home teaching Pilates, anywhere from beginners to elite athletes, injury rehabilitation and general maintenance classes.

Reformer Pilates is a holistic exercise system designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance. Exercises involve the whole body and are performed on a reformer bed, sometimes utilising small equipment.

So much more than just building 'a strong core', Reformer Pilates addresses underlying structural imbalances in the body, which can create ongoing pain and difficulty with movement. Lengthened and strengthened muscles improve posture and overall fitness, and restrain dysfunctional movement patterns. Renowned as a safe exercise form, modifications are given throughout the class to ensure everyone is both safe and challenged to their own individual level.
